I highly recommend Amy as a tutor. I've had 8 sessions with Amy on Medical Mandarin to prepare for my Family Medicine global health rotation in Taiwan. Amy prepared high yield medical topics ranging from pediatrics, hospice, to chronic medical conditions. The scenarios and vocabulary were useful and of very high quality. I saw significant growth in my language skills in both reading and speaking. Amy is professional, kind, and a very effective tutor.

After learning Mandarin with Amy for nearly a year now I have been very happy with the progress and development. I wanted to be able to discuss real-world topics eg current affairs, economics, technology as part of my career development, and Amy manages to tailor every lesson to just that while ensuring we cover the basics too. Amy put a lot of extra effort into preparing lessons for me when I wanted to learn about a specialized topic. It was extremely helpful that Amy prepared vocabulary for me in the area I wanted to learn in beforehand, so that all I had to do was study the sentences and lists she gave me without having to do extra research on my own. I also appreciated that Amy prepared a variety of exercises for each lesson so I could learn in different ways. I think my vocabulary improved very quickly while working with Amy, which I didn't expect from online tutoring.

Teacher Amy is an excellent teacher, she runs through topics that are very relevant in day to day conversation and has continued to encourage and challenge me to learn. I find it very helpful that she understands the best way to teach me at my current level and encourages me to speak in class both through explaining words in simple Chinese as well as recreating sentences. She is very good at varying the lessons with a good amount of new and relevant words each week, ensuring that I have a good understanding of new words from previous lessons and a lot of practice.

I have been having lessons with Amy for three months now and have definitely seen an improvement in my pronunciation. Amy is a really patient and encouraging teacher and she can work on weak points you didn't even realise you had! She always aims to build lessons around your needs and goals. I highly recommend her :)
